3. Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Natural moisture mass of 1000 grains as received

The mass of 1000 sample grains including moisture.

3.2

Mass of 1000 grains on the dry basis

Mass of 1000 grains on the dry basis after deducting moisture content.

4. Principle

Weigh and count the complete particles in the sample, divide the mass of the entire particle by the number of particles, and represent the result as a mass of 1000 particles

6. Operating Steps

6.1 Determination of Thousand Grain Weight of Natural Moisture

Take approximately 500 samples randomly from the natural sample, select the complete particles, and weigh them (mt) to the nearest 0.01g; Record the number of complete particles (N). For cereal grains, the weighing weight is usually around 30g

Each sample should be tested twice in parallel
