When the ambient temperature is not at 20 ℃, calibrate according to the calibration values in Appendix A. 6.3 Sample solution determination: Maintain a stable measurement temperature with a variation not exceeding ± 0.5 ℃. Wipe the surface of the prism with a soft velvet cloth. Add 2-3 drops of the sample solution to be tested, so that the sample solution is evenly distributed on the entire prism surface. Align the light source (non digital refractometer should rotate the achromatic adjustment knob to divide the field of view into two parts: light and dark. Then rotate the prism knob to make the light and dark boundary line fit at the intersection of the objective lens), and record the refractometer reading.
