1 Scope This standard is applicable to essence for food. The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 2.1 essence for food is a concentrated mixture (except for preparations that only produce flavor, sweet taste or sour taste) composed of food flavor and (or) food hot processing, flavoring and food essence excipients. It contains or does not contain food essence excipients. Usually they are not directly used for consumption, but for food processing. Note 1. Essence and Guiwei food should be strictly distinguished.
